Rocky Point sits at the upper end of Fort Gibson Lake where Flat Rock Creek feeds into the main channel, a spot defined by steep, rocky bluffs along the park's eastern edge and thicker timber on the west. A small cove between those two features creates a calm place to moor boats, and the park's designated sandy swim beach gives swimmers a clear shoreline to use. The campground is a year-round facility a short drive northwest of the historic Fort Gibson area and is readily reached from Wagoner by taking Highway 69 north and a few local roads; the posted 911 address is 68247 S. 320 Rd., Wagoner, OK 74467. Birdwatching and shoreline wildlife viewing are easy here, and the broader 20,000-acre lake and its 225 miles of shoreline support extensive recreational options from boating and water sports to hunting on nearby public lands. Park facilities are straightforward and geared to lake use: Rocky Point has 62 campsites in all 61 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and one tent-only site with most sites offering electric hookups and three canopy sites without hookups available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park provides a group day-use picnic shelter, a playground, drinking water, flush and pit toilets, showers, two dump stations, a courtesy dock and three boat ramps (Rocky Point is noted for having one of the best ramps on Fort Gibson Lake). A small convenience store sits just outside the park gates selling pizza, sandwiches, ice, fuel and a limited selection of groceries and camping items. Anglers come for black bass, white bass, crappie and several varieties of catfish and panfish (the lake also has three heated fishing docks for winter crappie anglers), and the campground supports easy access to biking, hiking, picnicking and swimming. Reservations are accepted year-round; cancellation made 48 hours or more before arrival incur a $10 fee, while cancellations within 24 hours of the reservation incur $10 plus the first night's camping fee.
