marlene p ★ 5 · Jun 2025The site was clean and the host very good. Some people in the regular campground did not abide by quiet hours going until midnight. We noted this to the host and he addressed it with them. We were grateful no one was flying drones around, I hope that is now illegal...the noise can be an issue with mostly campers and that and bright lights affect those of us in tents. It would be great to make this campground tents only, since it is small and the reality is that campers with noise, lights, generators, etc seem to be taking over. Thank you so much....for all your work
Joan B ★ 3 · Jul 2024The experience was excellent, except for an incident with the camp host who made some very sexist comments to several of the women who were part of our camping retreat in the group site. A suggestion is to have more training for the camp hosts. Last year the host was wonderful. This year the older gentleman from Texas seemed to bring his Texas prejudices to New Mexico. So grateful to the efforts of the Parks to keep our parks an amazing place to reflect in quiet and enjoy our sacred earth.
Ramon B ★ 5 · Jul 2023Great site for small or large groups

Clear Creek Group Campground sits beside Clear Creek in a high-pine section of the Jemez Mountains, about 11 miles east of Cuba on New Mexico State Highway 126 and roughly a 90-minute drive from Albuquerque. The setting is dominated by ponderosa pines and Engelmann spruce, with open views of the Jemez ridgelines and frequent sightings of mule deer, elk and a variety of birds; black bears are also present in the forest, so campers should plan appropriate food storage. The site is part of the Clear Creek Campground complex but occupies the final loop, far enough from individual sites to feel private; it's a single reservable group site (total campsites: 1) configured to accommodate both RVs and tents (site type breakdown: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites) and sized to host up to 70 people. Beyond the immediate campground, anglers find fishing in local streams and at San Gregorio Reservoir, and hikers can access trails into the nearby San Pedro Parks Wilderness; the broader Santa Fe National Forest offers biking, winter sports, backcountry hiking and even overnight stays at managed fire lookouts or cabins. The group area is laid out for gatherings: a large ramada with picnic tables, a pedestal grill, drinking water, and a vaulted toilet are provided, plus parking space large enough for a bus or big RV. A campground host is on site during the season to answer questions. The facility opens in May and closes in mid-October, and because it's a popular weekend destination for Albuquerque recreationists you should reserve well ahead of your trip reservations are available and recommended. No additional fee details are provided here, so check the Forest Service reservation system or the Santa Fe National Forest office for current rates, permit requirements and any seasonal access advisories.
