Lightfoot Landing is the smallest developed campground on Pomme de Terre Lake, offering a quieter base for anglers and boaters who prefer fewer neighbors and easy water access. The site sits on the lake formed by the Pomme de Terre River and Lindley Creek and fronts part of the lake's 7,790 surface acres and 113 miles of shoreline, so scenic water views and quick launches are the norm. TOTAL CAMPSITES: 35 each site is configured to serve both RVs and tents and every site includes electric and water hookups; one of the sites is accessible. Practical amenities on-site include a shower house, a dump station for RVs, a boat ramp with a courtesy dock for loading and unloading, a picnic shelter, a playground and horseshoe pits, all of which make the place well suited to family outings or a multi-day fishing trip. Fees, reservation windows and seasonal closures are set by the park, so check the park office or official website before you go. Recreation at Lightfoot Landing centers on the lake itself: Pomme de Terre is famous for fishing, with a very high catch ratio and healthy populations of bass, catfish, walleye and crappie; the lake is particularly noted for muskie, which are stocked each fall. Both canoeing and power boating are common here, and you'll also see water skiers and other water-sport activity when conditions permit. Beyond boating and fishing, the broader Pomme de Terre area supports hiking, picnicking, wildlife viewing, environmental education programs and concession services, and there are privately owned lodges nearby if you want alternatives to camping. For things off the water, a well-regarded dirt track sits a short drive down Highway 83 toward Wheatland, and the Pomme de Terre Multipurpose Trail is reachable from Bolivar Landing the campground itself is generally accessed northeast of Bolivar off Highway 83 toward RB Highway.
