“This is a great campground. The host is so helpful and kind. This is our new favorite camping spot. The vault toilets are the cleanest I've ever seen anywhere. The host is really on top of things here Thanks for a great experience.”
“Lovely, clean, tidy site 30 min walk to falls at beautiful Snake River. Peaceful other than AWT vehicles passing. ”
“Campsite was great! We had a baby moose munching some plants one morning. Mom was keeping a close eye a couple campsites over. We had a great time!”

Falls Campground sits at about 5,100 feet along the Snake River in Swan Valley, roughly 45 miles east of Idaho Falls off Highway 26 with a short gravel approach that leads 3.5 miles down to the river. The site layout totals 24 campsites 23 that accommodate both RVs and tents and one designated RV-only spot plus a large group site that can hold up to 150 people, so it works for everything from solo anglers to extended family gatherings. Sites are simple and functional: each has a picnic table, a campfire ring and a grill, with gravel roads and parking spurs throughout. Vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided; there is no electrical service at the campground. Firewood is available for purchase from the host, and beyond those basics you should plan on self-contained camping comforts since hookups and electricity aren't provided. The campground's character comes from its river-bottom setting among cottonwood trees, grassy meadows and summer wildflowers, with frequent wildlife sightings eagles, osprey, moose and deer are commonly seen along the river corridor. The Snake River here is popular for cutthroat trout fishing, canoeing, floating, rafting and kayaking, and the public Conant Boat Ramp is nearby for easy put-ins. Less than a quarter-mile walk from camp is Fall Creek Falls, a 60-foot cascade that drops over a travertine ledge and is visible from parts of the campground. For more extensive water recreation, Palisades Reservoir sits less than 20 miles away with broader boating and swimming opportunities, and the Fall Creek area offers a network of trails used by hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and ATV enthusiasts. For current conditions, fees and reservation policies, check with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest before you go.
