“During the week it was so quiet and was fall camping at its best!”
“This campground was beautiful and close to Warm Lake. The camp hosts were friendly and the bathrooms were the cleanest of any campground I’ve ever stayed at. ”
“Lovely location with good privacy, paved campsites, and friendly Ranger who kept the place very clean. Bathrooms especially. Will definitely return. ”

Shoreline Campground sits just across the road from Warm Lake at about 5,300 feet, where a mixed-growth lodgepole pine stand gives partial shade and summer wildflowers color the understory. The site contains 33 campsites all configured to serve both RVs and tents with a mix of single and double sites, and most designed for accessibility. An accessible group site with a covered picnic shelter holds up to 50 people; next to it you'll find a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. Individual campsites come with picnic tables, campfire rings and grills; vault toilets and drinking water are provided, but there is no electrical service, so plan for off-grid power if you need it. The campground is accessed from Warm Lake Highway via Forest Road 489, roughly 85 miles north of Boise and a short distance past Cascade, and there are staging areas for off-highway vehicles within the campground as well as at nearby Warm Lake Campground. Recreation centers on Warm Lake a boat ramp is directly across the road, and the lake supports boating, canoeing and swimming with Billy Rice Swim Beach a short walk away for day-use picnicking and water access. Anglers will find cutthroat, rainbow, lake and bull trout in the lake; on land, the recently built WeWuKiye (Wa Wu Kia) Trail No. 252 begins at the campground entrance and is popular with hikers and mountain bikers, while Telephone Ridge Trail No. 112 offers about 20 miles of routes for off-road riders. The broader Boise National Forest around Warm Lake also supports horseback riding, hunting, winter sports, wildlife viewing and stays at nearby fire lookouts or cabins. Wildlife in the area includes bears, deer, elk, fox, grouse, eagles, osprey, grosbeaks, whooping cranes and otters, so store food securely and practice standard bear-aware precautions. Because fees, reservation windows and seasonal access can change, check current conditions and reservation policies with the Boise National Forest before you go.
