“we really like the beauty and quiet of Lowry. We will hope to stay there again next year. ”
“Really are the cleanest toilets! Beautiful views. Sites are fairly close but I think they all had views! You will probably need to level. Not a fancy place but well kept. ”
“As advertised. Beautiful view, Eady access to other destinations like Maroon Bells and Breckenridge.”

Perched at 9,320 feet between Summit Cove and Breckenridge in the White River National Forest, Lowry Campground sits a short drive off Highway 6, about three miles east of I-70 (exit 205) toward Keystone. The site is compact 27 campsites in all with 24 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and three tent-only sites kept on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites 2 24 offer electrical hookups for an additional fee; all campsites are limited to 10 people and two vehicles, and vehicle length may not exceed 32 feet. Expect minimal shade here due to pine beetle hazard-tree removal, and plan accordingly for sun exposure. Basic campground amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings, drinking water and vault toilets; firewood is sold by the hosts. If you bring a boat, ramps are available at the nearby marinas in Frisco and Dillon rather than inside the campground itself. Recreation centers on nearby Dillon Reservoir (Lake Dillon), which offers 26.8 miles of shoreline for fishing, boating and sailing anglers can catch rainbow and brown trout, with occasional cutthroat from feeder streams. Hikers and cyclists can tap into more than seven paved miles of the 50-mile Summit County trail network close by, and the Old Dillon Reservoir trail is a short, easy route with clear views of the Tenmile Range and the Continental Divide and a touch of local history: the old reservoir once supplied the original town of Dillon. The broader White River National Forest around Lowry provides access to rugged terrain in places like the Eagles Nest Wilderness craggy cliffs, alpine lakes and steep valleys where bighorn sheep, elk, pika and ptarmigan live and is served by year-round resorts (Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain) for winter sports. If you have a reservation note the policy: once your reservation start date has begun it cannot be modified by the Recreation.gov Contact Center or the campground manager.
