“Would like to see upgraded bathroom and water. Some sites don't really have camping pads. Scenery is great.”
“They removed the bathroom at the start of the springer gulch campground. You may as well drive away from the pay campgrounds and camp for free up I believe it's called wagonton. Not worth it anymore unless you get a spot deep in springergulch where the bathroom and water are.”

Springer Gulch Campground sits at about 8,300 feet in Eleven Mile Canyon, a short walk from the South Platte River and a scenic drive from Eleven Mile Reservoir. Ponderosa, aspen and fir trees thinly dot the lower sites and grow denser farther up the gulch, and polished gray granite cliffs home to nesting golden eagles rise above the river corridor. Fly fishers will find abundant trout in the South Platte, hikers can reach the Overlook Trail (trail access is from nearby Spillway Campground) for canyon and reservoir views, and wildlife watchers should be prepared to see elk, mule deer, foxes and, occasionally, mountain lions or bears; bats are often active at dusk. The campground is part of the larger Pike and San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands recreation area, where opportunities extend to boating on Eleven Mile Reservoir, climbing the canyon rock, horseback riding, mountain biking, and general wildlife viewing across rolling prairie and high mountain landscapes. Note that the Forest Service regulates unmanned aircraft systems (drones); recreational drone use must follow Forest Service rules and federal law. There are 14 reservable campsites at Springer Gulch: 10 sites accommodate both RVs and tents and 4 are tent-only; dirt parking aprons fit trailers up to 25 feet. Sites provide picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets and a hand pump for drinking water there is no hookup or sewer service so come prepared for backcountry-style conveniences. Reservations and cancellations follow Recreation.gov policies: cancellations up to 2 days before arrival incur a $10.00 fee; cancelling the day before or on the arrival day results in a $10.00 service fee and forfeiture of the first night's use fee (including tax and applicable add-ons); one-night reservations cancelled forfeit the entire amount paid. No-shows are charged a $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and add-ons; staff will hold a campsite only until check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival. Refund requests must be submitted through your Recreation.gov profile within 7 days of the reservation end date; card refunds are credited back to the original card, while check or cash payments are returned by Treasury check (which can take 6 8 weeks). For facility-specific questions call (661) 702-1420. To reach the campground from Lake George, head south off Highway 24 onto County Road 96 and follow the road into Eleven Mile Canyon Springer Gulch is on the right about 6 miles from the canyon entrance.
