“Very good tent camping everywhere. No showers but clean bathrooms with flush toilets. High bear activity in the area so just be clean.”
“All out leveling blocks couldn’t make #5 spot level. Brush and trees all needed serious trimming. The bathrooms were clean with normal flushing toilets though. ”

Potwisha Campground sits along the Generals Highway in the Sierra Foothills of Sequoia National Park, beside the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River and roughly four miles past the Ash Mountain entrance. The site offers a low-elevation foothill landscape where grassy valley floors meet granite outcrops and river canyons; oaks, chaparral, and abundant birdlife are common, and visitors may spot mule deer, bobcats, and American black bears. The campground is open year-round to tents, RVs, and trailers and contains 38 sites in total 35 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 3 tent-only sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and food-storage lockers provided at every site. Flush toilets, drinking water, and an amphitheater are located inside the loop, and a free dump station is available across the highway year-round. The campground information line is (559) 565-3714 for facility-specific questions. Recreation around Potwisha is very accessible: the Marble Falls trailhead sits adjacent to the campground, other trailheads are a short drive away, and the Kaweah River can be reached with a brief walk across the road for fishing or riverside picnicking. Reservations are required for all sites year-round and payment in full is charged to your credit card when you complete a reservation; a $10 service fee applies to changes or cancellations, and late cancellations (from midnight the day before arrival through checkout the day after arrival) incur a $10 fee and forfeit the first night's use fee. Single-night cancellations forfeit the entire use fee but do not incur the $10 cancellation fee, and failing to notify the campground by 12:00 pm noon the day after your scheduled arrival may result in cancellation of your reservation. Entrance fees apply (for example, a 1 7 day vehicle pass is $35) and camping fees are $32 per night (reduced to $16 per night for valid lifetime Access, lifetime Senior, and annual Senior passes); for directions, maps, and additional planning resources see the park website. Note also that the campground lists two wheelchair-accessible sites (numbered 39 and 40).
