Sean D ★ 3 · Sep 2025The campground was fine, the trash was emptied regularly, the bathrooms were cleaned regularly. The beach was nearby, and people were friendly as was our camp host. However, every night around 10PM people started screaming in drunken revelry that went on until around 2AM. It was wild and disruptive. That's what we get for camping on a holiday weekend.
Eric P ★ 1 · Aug 2024Absolutely SHAMEFUL! You provide no supervision or enforcement of the rules. There were parties with loud music, sing alongs, screeching children and people riding around the campground in ATVs until 3am both Friday and Saturday nights. They had illegal campfires and were shooting off fireworks and no one was there to stop the insanity. We left 2 days early because we had an awful experience! Your should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this to be the case in our public lands. I WILL NEVER camp in a USFS facility again after this. Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!
Doug P ★ 5 · Oct 2022We stayed in spot 29. Has great access to beach and boat ramp. Has a few good spots for tents. You’ll wake up to the sunrise and might want to plan that in as far as placement of tent to avoid the early morning sun. We had my Tacoma and was enough room for it to park, not much bigger vehicle would fit in parking spot. We had a great time and the lake is magical!

South Fork Road

Wyandotte Campground sits about five miles from the small town of La Porte on the Feather River Ranger District at roughly 5,100 feet elevation, set among mixed-conifer forest that opens onto views of Little Grass Valley Reservoir. The reservoir itself covers about 1,600 acres and is part of the South Fork Feather River network that connects into Lake Oroville, so the water and shoreline around the campground are a defining feature of the area. The site is small and intimate there are twelve campsites in total, and each is listed as suitable for both RVs and tents but specific on-site facilities (water spigots, toilets, RV hookups, etc.) are not detailed in the provided information, so you should check current listings or contact the Feather River Ranger District before you arrive. Access is by the La Porte Quincy Road (the road from Brownsville or Hwy 70 toward Quincy) to La Porte, then northeast a few miles on Little Grass Valley/So Fork Road; keep in mind operations are seasonal and late snow can delay the campground's opening. Recreation centers on the lake and the surrounding forested hills: the campground provides a base for camping, both power and flatwater boating, swimming, and fishing, while nearby trails, wildlife viewing areas and historic mining sites give hikers and history-minded visitors something to explore ashore. Wildlife is abundant expect to see deer, squirrels and songbirds, and keep an eye on the skies for bald eagles and osprey; bears are also reported in the area, so standard food-storage precautions are prudent. Little Grass Valley sees both summer and winter recreational use, but because the campground is subject to winter snow the season can be limited; fee and reservation details aren't included in the materials provided here, so confirm current fees, reservation policies and opening dates with the Feather River Ranger District before planning your trip.
