Brady Mountain sits on the western shores of Lake Ouachita, set among the low ridges of the Ouachita Mountains about 10 miles west of Hot Springs. The lake here is known for exceptionally clear water and an island-dotted shoreline the lake has some 692 miles of shoreline and 178 islands which draws boaters, anglers and scuba divers who come to explore submerged ridgelines and the flooded mountain-valley terrain. A standout activity is the Geo-Float Trail, a 16-mile, self-guided boat tour that runs from the Spillway Recreation Area to Brady Mountain Recreation Area and highlights striking shoreline geology; closer to camp, a land-based nature trail leaves from the campground for short hikes and wildlife viewing. Beyond what's available at the campground, the Lake Ouachita area supports a wide range of recreation biking, water sports, horseback riding and privately operated lodges, marinas and concessions so you can pair a day on the water with a meal or an equestrian excursion nearby. The campground itself contains 72 sites divided between two loops Loop A has 35 sites and Loop B has 37 with 55 sites configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and 17 designated tent-only sites. All sites offer electric hookups, and the campground provides practical amenities for extended stays and boat users including a boat ramp, dump station, fish-cleaning station, hot showers, a swim beach and a playground. The location is unstaffed, so campers should call the main office at (501) 767-2101 for the latest information on fees, reservations and seasonal availability before arriving. Access is straightforward from Hot Springs via US-270 west to the Brady Mountain access road and then north to the recreation area, making Brady Mountain a convenient lakeside base for fishing, diving, boating and shorter hikes.
