“Little slice of heaven. Clean, quite, and secluded. I would stay here again. ”
“All dirt gravel roads to access this campground. This is a Nice shaded spot. Cool hand pump for water. Clean vault toilets. No cell reception makes for a perfectly good quiet experience. Mosquitos were present. ”

Beaver Lake Campground is a compact, family-oriented site tucked against the shore of Beaver Lake in northwestern Wisconsin. The campground contains six campsites in total, and all six are set up to accommodate both tents and RVs; each site includes a picnic table and a metal campfire ring with a grill. Visitors will find drinking water on site, accessible vault toilets, and central trash collection with recycling bins. The immediate setting is mixed maple, birch and red pine forest opening onto the lake, and a public boat ramp sits about a half-mile from the campground for launching kayaks, canoes or small boats. The campground's posted address is 61324 Beaver Lake Road (Forest Road 199); from the town of Mellen it's reached by heading west on County GG and continuing on the network of forest service roads that serve this part of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Recreation at Beaver Lake ranges from quiet shoreline activities to access for longer backcountry routes. A short spur trail links the campground to the North Country National Scenic Trail, so day hikes and through-hike access are easy to reach, while the lake itself is suitable for paddling, swimming and fishing; Springbrook, a nearby Class 1 brook trout stream, draws anglers as well. Beyond the immediate lakeshore you'll find miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and off-highway vehicle riding across the larger forest; regional highlights such as Morgan Falls, St. Peter's Dome and the Penokee overlook are a short drive away. Because the campground has only six sites, capacity fills quickly during busy periods check the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest website for current information on fees, reservations and seasonal access before you go.
