“The camp host introduced himself right away which was cool. Kept the loud sites under control. The overall campground was nice. Clean bathrooms. I had site #1 and it was huge and flat and direct access to the water. ”
“Always a nice experience at this campground. Host is very helpful, very cordial. Boat landing is well kept. ”
“Rain so hard had to leave early.. the site would have been perfect. No cell coverage and steady rain made it miserable. Lol. We will be back. I want to fish and kayak this lake ”

Richardson Lake Campground sits on the south shore of a 47-acre, forest-ringed lake in Forest County, surrounded by a maple-dominated northern hardwood stand that shines in autumn. The site layout includes 26 campsites 24 that can accommodate both tents and RVs and two tent-only sites arranged to give easy access to a sandy swim beach and a picnic area perched above the water. Practical facilities at the campground are straightforward: a boat landing for launching canoes or small boats, potable drinking water, and vault toilets. Anglers will find bass, northern pike and panfish in Richardson Lake, and the shoreline and shallow coves are good for quiet wildlife viewing and casual paddling. Recreation at Richardson centers on fishing, swimming and canoeing/boating on the lake, while the wider Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest expands options to hiking, auto touring, OHV routes, horseback riding, hunting and more if you're willing to explore beyond the campground. You'll reach the campground with a short drive from Wabeno via Highway 52 and Richardson Lake Road (FR2880); Crandon and Wabeno are the nearest towns for supplies and services. The Forest Service posts current fees, reservation rules and seasonal opening dates on its recreation pages, so check those before you go sites accommodate RVs but only the listed amenities (drinking water, vault toilets, beach and boat landing) are provided. If you're timing a visit for color, the maple canopy makes fall a particularly popular season.
