“Plenty of space to spread out camping and a place to launch kayaks. Saw a mother bear with 3 cubs on the shore! Fabulous spot.”

McClintic Point sits on the northern end of Lake Moomaw amid scattered trees and open grassy patches that give the campground a relaxed, low-key feel. The site offers 24 campsites total, and each is listed as suitable for both RVs and tents, with several spots positioned close enough to the shore for lakefront mornings. Facilities are basic and rustic: you'll find vault toilets and seasonal drinking water (available April through October). The campground also includes three group sites that range in capacity from about 20 to 35 people, making it a practical option for larger gatherings. The road in from Warm Springs follows U.S. 39 west and then south on State Route 600 to the McClintic Point turnoff McClintic is essentially on the north shore of Lake Moomaw and is a short drive from Bolar Flat Marina. The lake is the real focus here: Lake Moomaw covers roughly 2,530 surface acres, offers 43.5 miles of shoreline and reaches depths up to 150 feet, creating a roomy setting for boating, canoeing, water-skiing and fishing. Anglers commonly catch brown and rainbow trout as well as bass and crappie along the shoreline, and open lawn areas at the campground make it easy to spread out, play or dry gear after a day on the water. If you need services beyond the campground, the small town of Warm Springs is nearby, with restaurants and the Bath County Historical Society; Bolar Flat Marina sits a few miles along the lake access road. Note the seasonal limits on potable water and the campground's rustic amenities check with the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest office for the latest on fees, reservations and any access notices before you arrive.
