“Nice large (secluded) spots. Was tight to get my travel trailer parked though!”
“I loved this campground. It is beautiful among the pines and well kept. I really liked the campground host's friendliness and the care he gave the facilities.”

Cedar Canyon Campground sits on the western edge of the Colorado Plateau about 11 miles east of Cedar City on Highway 14, just below the highway's S-turn. Crow Creek runs alongside the sites through a mixed stand of fir and aspen at roughly 8,100 feet, so most campsites get dappled shade in the afternoon. The loop is small the campground has 19 total campsites (19 sites configured for both RVs and tents), with several family sites and a separate small group site and the paved roads and paved spurs make towing and maneuvering straightforward. Basic services are provided: vault toilets and potable drinking water are on site, but there are no showers. Note that OHV/ATV use, including street-legal machines, is not permitted inside the campground. Recreation radiates outward from the camp: Cedar Breaks National Monument is about 8 miles away and offers maintained trails, interpretive tours, and high-country views; immediately beyond Cedar Breaks the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness provides roughly 10 miles of trails and the Twisted Forest, a stand of ancient bristlecone pines. The 34-mile Virgin River Rim Trail is a short drive away and welcomes hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders, while Navajo Lake and Duck Lake (both within about 20 minutes) are options for boating, canoeing and fishing. For motorized trail riding, the Markagunt ATV trail system sits roughly 5 miles east of the campground, but remember OHV use is restricted to those designated trails and not allowed in the campground itself. For up-to-date information on fees, reservations, seasonal openings and any access restrictions, check with the Dixie National Forest office before you go; the broader forest supports a wide range of activities from auto touring and winter sports to wildlife viewing and overnight stays in fire lookouts or cabins.
