“Nice campground. We were lucky and had a nice shady spot. So nice that the table area is covered. Enjoyed the swimming area. ”
“Due to me booking last, I was in an area were there was no trash bins, only when you at the exit. When we asked the said that side should have been closed. Otherwise it was good.”

Cedar Ridge Park Campground sits along the white limestone bluffs and shoreline of Belton Lake, where a mix of sun and shade defines a landscape of cedar and oak and opens onto views of Cedar Creek and the Leon River arm. The park feels both lake-oriented and comfortably domestic: some campsites are right on the water while others are a short walk inland amid patches of wildflowers in spring. On the water you'll find two multi-lane boat ramps with courtesy loading docks for launching powerboats and tow sports, a large lighted fishing dock and a designated family swim beach, while shore-based recreation includes playgrounds, a basketball court, hiking trails that follow the river, and wildlife viewing opportunities from the man-made 25-acre wetland across the lake. A concession marina inside the park sells fuel and basic supplies and operates a seasonal restaurant, and the spillway mural at Belton Dam and nearby historic features such as the old Charter Oak on the Leon River and the Stage Coach Inn in Salado make for easy day trips after a morning on the water. Cedar Ridge operates year-round and offers 78 campsites in total: 64 sites configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and 14 tent-only sites, with three named loops that include the Cove (1 site), Four (14 sites) and Seco (16 sites). All campsites come with water and electric hookups, a covered picnic table and grill; there are restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, two dump stations, screened shelter sites for campers without gear, and a group camping area (Turkey Roost) with 10 group sites plus two group picnic shelters that can each host up to 100 people. The park is staffed by gate attendants and volunteer campground hosts; because demand rises in warm months and on holiday weekends, call the park for current fees, reservations and any seasonal notices at (254) 742-3050. In addition to boating, fishing and swimming, visitors can expect hiking, picnicking, playgrounds, organized group cookouts and abundant wildlife viewing hawks, herons, turkeys and, occasionally, bald eagles while Fort Hood's adjacent points of interest and the Miller Springs Nature Area below Belton Dam offer extra options for history and nature outings.
