“We love this park because it is smaller than some of the other surrounding parks with easy access to the boat ramp. The only thing that made me rate 4 instead of 5 stars was the grass was knee height (adult) and the burrs were SUPER bad.”

White Flint Park sits on the shore of Belton Lake and operates year-round, offering 23 total campsites clustered along the water's edge where trees thin to provide a pleasant mix of sun and shade. The campground's site mix includes 11 spaces that accommodate both RVs and tents and 12 tent-only sites; each site is equipped with a covered picnic table, a grill and water and electric hookups. Screened overnight shelters are part of the facility's inventory, and basic comforts at the day-to-day level are handled on site there are multi-lane boat ramps for easy launch, flush toilets, coin or free showers, a dump station, and gate attendants who reside in the park to assist visitors. Between White Flint and neighboring Winkler Park you'll notice a man-made wetland that adds roughly 25 acres of habitat, and the campsites' shoreline location makes the lake itself the focal point of the stay. The lake behind Belton Dam covers about 12,300 acres with roughly 136 miles of shoreline, so boating, fishing and water sports are major draws; the campground provides direct access for anglers and boaters via the launch. On land you'll find hiking and wildlife-viewing opportunities nearby, including Miller Springs Nature Area below the dam (a Leon River trail, restored historic bridge and wildlife vantage points). Birds frequent the area year-round hawks, great blue herons, ducks, geese, songbirds, bobwhite quail, Rio Grande turkeys and the occasional bald eagle making it a good spot for birding. Historical points of interest in the region include the old Charter Oak on the Leon River and the Stage Coach Inn in Salado, and the spillway mural at Belton Dam depicts Bell County's history; Fort Hood sits adjacent to the lake and offers additional points of interest for military history enthusiasts.
