Nova C ★ 4 · Sep 2024Shotgun Creek Recreational Park has been my family’s favorite place for many years, and we absolutely love this park! This is the first time that I finally got to rent gazebo #1 and do a large family event for my Moms 70th birthday. Everything things was amazing. It was a beautiful day and there was hiking and swimming and playground and a volleyball net. We did a huge BBQ with many food items. I’m wanting to rent the gazebo when we can do a big fire in the fireplace! Thank you!
Kelli B ★ 4 · Jul 2024I was very disappointed to get there and see that the grounds were not taken care of. The grass wasn't mowed. The little creek Like ditch by the shelter so over grown you couldn't even see it. The bathrooms not working. I grew up going to Shotgun park and it was so sad to see it in this condition.
Sydney B ★ 5 · May 2024Such a gorgeous place!! It’s so well taken care of! I love there are trash cans in the sheltered areas. I also got a call before my reservation time to go over some things about my upcoming reservation, which I thought was so kind and thoughtful!! This is my second time having an event here and I will definitely have many more! Thank you all for your hard work!!

Shotgun Creek Recreation Site sits in a low-elevation forest in the mid-Willamette Valley, a leafy day-use area that combines shaded trails, a swimming spot, and picnic infrastructure more commonly found in urban parks. The site offers two campsites that can accommodate both RVs and tents, although the area is primarily used for day recreation; shelters are available for reservation from May 1 through September 30 and each large group shelter includes a fireplace, lights, sinks, potable water, and enough picnic tables to serve up to about 112 people. Beyond the shelters you'll find 23 individual picnic sites, a playground, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball and softball areas, and roughly 6.4 miles of hiking trails that thread through the property. Day-use fees are collected at an electronic station near the entrance a $5 daily vehicle fee must be paid on site (cash or check payable to the BLM with the receipt stub displayed on the dash), or you may use an Interagency, Northwest Oregon District annual, or Golden Pass in lieu of the daily fee; standard fees are non-refundable and shelter reservations and cancellation rules follow Recreation.gov policies. For riders and people who want more motorized trail time, the Shotgun OHV system lies immediately north of the recreation site and offers roughly 30 34 miles of mixed forest trails across 8,320 acres, with elevations ranging from about 758 to 2,864 feet. Two staging areas Crooked Creek and the Cascade View OHV Complex provide restrooms, picnic tables, trash facilities and trail maps; Cascade View also includes a dedicated training site and a beginners' trail loop for novice riders. Important safety and regulatory notes apply: the OHV area is open year-round except when wildfire danger is rated High or Extreme (those conditions close the trail system until danger drops to Moderate or Low), a valid Oregon State ATV permit is required for all OHVs, and specific fire extinguisher requirements apply to operators (Class I and II vehicles must carry an 8-ounce or larger extinguisher during fire season; Class II and IV operators must carry a 2-pound or larger extinguisher year round). Maps at both staging facilities and the Northwest Oregon BLM office show that some trails border private land stay on signed routes and respect neighboring properties and current fire restrictions should be checked on the Oregon Department of Forestry and BLM fire pages before you go.
