“You need 50 amp service it was so hot we couldn’t use 2nd ac and we were miserable. No shade, spots need to be longer. Sewer hook ups would be great and people would pay. ”
“Outstanding experience! We had a men’s fellowship cookout and camping for one night. It was super quiet. The staff was super nice and helped us with everything. ”

Elk Creek Landing sits on the clear, 12,500-acre waters of Tenkiller Ferry Lake in the Cookson Hills, roughly 14 miles southeast of Tahlequah off Highway 82. The campground is quiet and well maintained, with 43 total campsites 41 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 2 tent-only sites about half of which offer electric hookups. Facilities are practical and straightforward: flush toilets, hot showers, water hydrants, a dump station and a paved boat ramp put the lake within easy reach, and two nonelectric group shelters provide covered space for larger gatherings. A marina with concessions is nearby and the lake itself supports a network of ten marinas and more than 20 launching ramps, so you'll find fuel, rentals and basic services a short drive from your campsite. The surrounding landscape is defined by oak-hickory forest and 200-foot limestone bluffs that drop to the shoreline, giving campsites close to the water a sense of privacy and big skies. The lake is the draw here: clear visibility makes Tenkiller a favorite for scuba divers, and anglers chase black bass, white and striped bass, crappie and catfish across its 130 miles of shoreline; the trout stream below the dam is one of only two year-round trout fisheries in Oklahoma and is regularly stocked. Prevailing winds and sheltered coves make parts of the lake friendly to sailors, while other visitors focus on water skiing, swimming, or exploring by rented boat or jet ski from nearby marinas. On land, three nature trails in the project area range from about 1.25 to over 2 miles and offer views of rock formations and wildlife viewing opportunities deer, turkey and seasonal migratory birds including eagles and loons are commonly seen. Picnicking areas, a playground and nearby privately owned lodges and concession sites round out options for non-campers. Hunting is allowed on most project lands outside parks and dam areas; state and federal rules apply and maps of public hunting areas are available from the project office. For current fees, reservation procedures and seasonal details, check with the Corps of Engineers/Tenkiller project office or the managing concessionaire before you go.
