“We enjoyed the park.our campsite was very difficult to get into (#42) as we were wedged between trees. The restroom closest to us was closed. Otherwise it was very nice”

Belle Starr Campground sits along sandy stretches of Eufaula Lake shoreline amid rolling, oak-dotted hills, a short drive from the town of Eufaula off OK-150/Texanna Road. The campground spreads its sites along the water with direct access to a campground boat ramp and a nearby Belle Starr Marina that provides fuel, boat slips, fishing supplies and dining. There are 112 campsites in total: 110 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 2 tent-only sites, plus a playground for kids and two large reservable group picnic shelters that each hold up to 100 guests. Hiking trails thread the hills and shoreline here, and the shoreline itself varies from long sandy beaches to rocky bluffs fall color on the hills is especially striking. The lake's dam, finished in 1964, created the 102,000-acre surface that gives Eufaula more than 600 miles of shoreline and the wide range of water access that draws boaters and anglers. Recreational opportunities at and around Belle Starr reflect the larger Eufaula Lake area: boating and water sports from the campground ramp or marina, year-round fishing for crappie, sand bass, catfish and black bass (and occasional trophy striped bass below the dam), plus wildlife viewing, horseback riding, OHV areas and environmental-education offerings around the lake. If you need services off-site, the historic town of Eufaula has antique shops and restaurants, while McAlester and nearby Krebs are known for Italian dining.
