“No power in the pavilion. Grass was super tall and they would not mow when asked. Lots of tall dead trees in the water to trip you when walking out into the lake. ”
“Was ill and missed. But I always love the fishing and nature ”
“I enjoyed all. The staff is tremendous as always. Thank you ”

Fairview Campground sits on the north shore of Canton Lake on the North Canadian River in northwest Oklahoma about 11 miles from the town of Canton and within the Corps of Engineers' multi-use recreation area around the dam. Canton Lake is one of western Oklahoma's primary outdoor hubs: a broad, calm stretch of water paralleling the dam draws water-skiers, tubers and personal watercraft, the gently sloping sandy beaches invite swimmers and sunbathers, and anglers come for crappie, white bass, hybrid bass, channel catfish, largemouth bass and especially walleye (the lake supplies walleye eggs statewide and hosts an annual Walleye Rodeo in mid-May). Day-use features around the project include a nature trail, an overlook visitor center, an outdoor amphitheater, a scenic drive across State Highway 58A with several dam pullouts and fishing jetties, and an active prairie dog town; services and supplies are available on lake access roads and at the commercial concession. The Fairview unit itself is a single group campsite that can accommodate up to 100 people, four RVs and several tents officially recorded as one campsite that supports both RV and tent use making it a frequent choice for family reunions and larger groups seeking a relatively secluded lakeside spot. Facilities at the site are straightforward: a large picnic shelter for communal meals, potable drinking water, and pit toilets; because Fairview is a gated group area you'll need to pick up the key at the Canadian campground gate house before entering. Beyond the campground, recreational options are abundant: boating and fishing right from the shoreline, hiking and wildlife viewing in the surrounding woodlands, nearby playground and specialized sport opportunities (there's a disc golf course about 12 miles away), and a 14,862-acre state wildlife management area close by for hunting and birding. Several restaurants, a casino and a 9-hole golf course sit within a few miles of the lake, and state parks such as Roman Nose and Glass Mountain are roughly a half-hour drive, so Fairview works well as a base for both waterside activities and wider regional outings.
