“A very nice campsite right on the lake. We were in spot 19 next to the bathrooms. The road was a little loud in the evenings and mornings but overall the experience was good. ”
“It was pretty much as we expected. Clean and quiet.”

Sprague Creek sits on the northeast shore of Lake McDonald, just off the Going-to-the-Sun Road, and is a compact, heavily treed campground that offers partial shade and, from a handful of shoreline sites, clear views across the lake. The campground contains a total of 30 sites: 22 sites designated for both RVs and tents and 8 tent-only sites. Sites are close together and are best suited to small-footprint tent camping; small RVs under 21 feet are allowed but towed units of any size and RVs exceeding 21 feet are not permitted. Generators are prohibited. Potable water is available in the loop and restrooms have flush toilets and sinks with running water, making basic conveniences easy to access despite the campground's modest scale. Sprague Creek also functions as a free shuttle stop on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, which helps compensate for the limited on-site services by linking you to other park facilities. For supplies and activities, historic Lake McDonald Lodge sits about a mile away and provides a camp store, restaurant, gift shop, boat tours and horse rides, plus evening ranger programs on many summer nights an easy walk or short shuttle ride from the campground. From Sprague Creek you can step into Glacier's wider offerings: paddling, boating and swimming on Lake McDonald; hundreds of miles of hiking trails and alpine meadows; and auto touring along the Going-to-the-Sun Road to reach other trailheads and historic chalets. The park's glacially carved terrain supports abundant wildlife be aware that species in the area include bears and other large mammals and standard backcountry precautions apply. Sites are reservable; check Glacier National Park's reservation and alerts pages for seasonal dates, fees, and any temporary access rules before you go.
