About

Eagle Creek Campground sits at about 6,100 feet on Jardine Road a couple of miles northeast of Gardiner and roughly 55 miles south of Livingston on Highway 89 S, with views toward the Gallatin Mountains and the high country of Yellowstone. TOTAL CAMPSITES: 20 18 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites and 2 Equestrian Sites are arranged on gravel roads with unpaved pads that will accept RVs up to 48'. Sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and a vault toilet; each campsite also has a bear box and a food storage order is in effect March 1st through December 1st. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hook-ups and no nearby dump station, and not all sites are level, so come prepared to self-contain and to level vehicles on uneven ground. The Yellowstone River Trailhead is inside the campground, and a small creek fringed with aspen runs along the west side where elk commonly move through and bed down in the grassy areas. This is a first-come, first-serve campground with fees paid at the self-service fee station on site; note the vehicle policy the first two vehicles are included in the fee for a single site and up to four vehicles are included for a double site, and any additional vehicle is assessed a $5.00/night fee payable at arrival. Two double sites (sites 19 and 20) sit next to the horse corrals and are reserved for stock users until 4:00 p.m.; after that they become first-come, first-serve for one night only. Beyond the campground you'll find easy access to rafting and fishing on the Yellowstone River, numerous hikes within about a 15-minute drive, and the Northwest entrance to Yellowstone National Park about 10 minutes away for expanded wildlife viewing and geothermal sights. The wider Custer Gallatin National Forest supports a broad range of outdoor pursuits hiking, horseback riding, fishing, biking, auto touring, boating, OHV use, picnicking, swimming and winter sports making Eagle Creek a practical base for both short outings and longer explorations.
