“Great site. Site was located on north side of park so you get to see a lot of sites getting g to campsite. Campsite was very clean. Staff very professional and friendly. ”
“The campground was easy to find and close to Devil’s Tower. There was water available and a vault toilet that was clean. The biggest surprise was having cows nearby and hearing them at night. ”

Indian Creek Campground sits at about 7,300 feet on the lower slopes of the Gallatin Mountains, roughly eight miles south of Mammoth Hot Springs on the road toward Norris and about thirteen miles from the North Entrance at Gardiner. Set off the main road, the campground has a quieter, more primitive feel than many sites inside the park and frames clear views of Electric Peak. The site is convenient for anglers and hikers: the Gardner River and nearby Obsidian Creek are in the neighborhood, and the Big Horn Pass trailhead is right on the campground entrance road. Day-use features within easy reach include Sheepeater Cliff picnic area, Willow Park for wildlife spotting, Rustic Falls, Apollonaris Spring and Obsidian Cliff; within the campground itself fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing are the primary draws while the wider park offers many additional activities such as auto touring, biking, boating, horseback riding, paddling, historic and cultural sites, picnicking and swimming. Practical details are straightforward: Indian Creek contains 68 sites, all suitable for both RVs and tents, divided between Loop A (28 sites) and Loop B (40 sites), and the nightly fee is $20 per site. A registration office and information board sit at the entrance, and the campground provides an amphitheater plus concession-operated firewood sales; staffing is limited, so call (307) 344-2289 for general information or current conditions. Reservation and policy rules follow the standard Recreation.gov framework: there is no change fee if your change includes dates from the original reservation or you swap to an equal-priced site for the same dates, but switching to dates entirely outside the original reservation incurs a $10 change fee; cancellations made prior to arrival are subject to a $10 service fee, while cancellations the day before or on arrival incur the $10 fee and forfeiture of the first night's rate (one-night reservations forfeited in full). No-shows are assessed a $20 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's rate, and refunds are issued to the original payment method (requests must be submitted within seven days of the reservation end, with special handling for cash/check payments). Note that several large campgrounds in the park are managed by Yellowstone National Park Lodges (Fishing Bridge RV Park, Bridge Bay, Canyon, Madison and Grant Village); those reservations are handled through their site (yellowstonenationalparklodges.com/stay/camping).
