“Site 21, close to protected harbor, very private. Site was clean and maintained other than fire pits needed to be emptied. Always enjoy our stay at Stony Point.”
“This is always a great stay for us. The resort itself is always clean and staff are friendly. There are many access points on the lake, great restaurants and shops near by. It's a summer-must for us every year since our first trip 5 years ago.”

Stony Point sits on the grassy banks of Leech Lake, about 14 miles east of Walker, Minnesota, where open lakeshore meets an old-growth stand of oak, elm, maple and ash some trees here are more than 200 years old. Leech Lake itself covers more than 112,000 acres with nearly 200 miles of shoreline, and the campground's location makes boating, canoeing and fishing the primary draws: a boat ramp and dock are located inside the campground, and anglers commonly target walleye, perch, bass, northern pike and muskie. Miles of trails thread the surrounding landscape, with access to long-distance routes such as the Paul Bunyan State Trail, the Heartland Trail, the Soo Line Trail and the North Country National Scenic Trail, and birders will find frequent waterfowl and the distinctive calls of loons on the water. Practical details matter here: Stony Point has 43 campsites in total 42 sites set up to accommodate both RVs and tents, and one walk-to tent-only site without electric service and the campground provides 30-amp electric hookups at its developed sites. Amenities include flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water and a dump station, making it suitable for both overnight and multi-day stays. Reservations for all Chippewa National Forest campgrounds can be made up to six months in advance, so plan ahead for busy summer weekends and check current seasonal openings and fees when you book. The wider Chippewa National Forest offers additional recreation opportunities from auto touring and biking to horseback riding and wildlife viewing while the nearby town of Walker (about a 20 25 minute drive) supplies restaurants, shops and seasonal festivals if you need supplies or a night out.
