“Very cool camo ground. We had a lake side spot which was nice to be close to the water . Bathrooms were very clean . Only complaint was the loud train constantly coming by and the fighter jets were out too so that was loud as well . ”
“While the campground itself was beautiful we were slightly dissapointed as our walkway to the lake from our site was long grass and very muddy so was inaccessible but could have been from the amount of rain we recently got overall beautiful site with no cell phone reception 😀 ”
“Simple, Quiet and Peaceful. What more could you want? Lake and waters are high due to flooding this year but the mosquitoes weren't horrible. Bathrooms were clean and sites well tended. We love this gem of the Superior NF and will be back!”

Cadotte Lake Campground sits along the western shore of a 318-acre lake within Superior National Forest, set among mixed evergreen, birch and aspen stands. The facility is small just eight campsites in total and each site is configured to serve both tents and RVs; several sites can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet and many feel relatively private under the trees, with a few offering direct access or views of the water via short footpaths. Onsite amenities support water-based camping: there's a boat ramp, a fishing dock and a sandy swimming beach right at the shoreline, plus designated fishing areas for anglers chasing walleye and northern pike. Fees are posted seasonally: during Peak Season (May 9 to Sept. 1) nonelectric campsites are $20 $22 per night, extra vehicles are $8 per night, and long-term campsite rentals are listed at $1,040 per season (long-term rentals are subject to mutual agreement). The campground's small size and limited number of sites mean availability can be constrained, and specific reservation or permit procedures are handled by the Superior National Forest office. Beyond the campground, Superior National Forest's three million acres stretch along the U.S. Canada border and offer a wide range of recreation. From Cadotte Lake you can launch for a day of boating, fishing or paddling, or take short hikes into the surrounding woods; the forest as a whole provides extensive opportunities for canoe routes, auto touring, biking, picnicking, wildlife viewing and winter sports, and contains numerous swimming beaches, fishing piers and lake access points. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and scenic byways are within the broader forest for longer excursions, while the immediate campground experience centers on lakeshore activities, quiet forested sites and easy water access. For current availability, rules about long-term rentals, and any seasonal updates, check with the Superior National Forest office before you go.
