“Very quiet, clean safe area to camp. Our first time in Kansas not really a user of reservation but very helpful neighbor helped us register overall good experience.”
“Stockdale park is our favorite. Not a party place, no blasting music, just small campgrounds for those looking to get away. ”

Stockdale Campground sits on a 188-acre strip of lakeshore within the larger Tuttle Creek Lake system in the Flint Hills, offering direct access to one of Kansas's larger reservoirs the lake itself has about 12,500 surface acres and roughly 100 miles of shoreline. The campground contains 12 total campsites, each designated to accommodate both RVs and tents, arranged in a compact draw along the water; sites are described as spacious and come with water and 50-amp electric hookups, plus flush toilets and showers nearby. The surrounding Flint Hills landscape is marked by flat-topped hills, limestone outcrops and clear stream channels, and the climate here tends toward warm summers and moderately cold winters, so plan clothing and gear accordingly. To reach Stockdale from the dam area you'll leave US-24 (Tuttle Creek Boulevard) and follow county roads for several miles the campground is roughly a 9.5-mile drive from the west end of the dam on that route. While Stockdale's dozen lakeside sites are a quiet basecamp, many of the area's recreational options extend across the 11 parks around Tuttle Creek (six managed by the Corps of Engineers, four by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, and one by Pottawatomie County). Boating, fishing and picnicking are primary draws: there's a full-service marina and multiple boat ramps on the lake, and the state park offers canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals; River Pond below the dam provides calmer water for paddling. Trails around the reservoir include hiking, biking, off-road vehicle and equestrian routes (the Blue River Trail is a one-mile loop in Outlet Park), and over 16,000 acres of enhanced land around the lake support hunting and wildlife viewing bald eagles, white-tailed deer, wild turkey and waterfowl are commonly seen, and anglers chase crappie and channel catfish. Stockdale is close enough for day trips to nearby attractions such as Konza Prairie, Kansas State University and Fort Riley. Fees, seasonal availability and reservation rules are handled by the managing agencies and can vary, so check the Corps of Engineers or Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks sites for current policies and booking information before you go.
