“My husband and I just started coming to Lithia this year and absolutely love it except for the fire pits. We wish they were more open and on the ground but we make due.”

“Great campground, love the store. Appreciate level site.”

About

Lithia Springs Campground sits on the eastern shore of Lake Shelbyville, about three miles east of Shelbyville off State Route 16, then a short county-road drive to the campground entrance. The site is set in an oak-and-hickory landscape where prairie flowers dot open patches in spring and summer and the forest credits fall with a mix of red, orange, purple and yellow. The campground offers 101 total campsites every one of those 101 sites is equipped to accommodate both RVs and tents and all include electric hookups; several sites are on the lakeshore within a short walk of the water. On-site amenities include flush toilets, showers, a dump station, a playground and a swimming beach, and boaters will find a ramp at Lithia Springs with a full-service marina adjacent to the recreation area. For practical matters like fees, seasonal availability and reservations, check the park's official reservation system or contact the managing office before you go. Lake Shelbyville itself is a large recreation complex 11,100 acres of water and 23,000 acres of land that supports a wide range of activities. At Lithia Springs you can launch for fishing (catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, muskie, walleye, white bass and bluegill are all present), swim, picnic or simply watch waterfowl and raptors pass the shoreline; the lake provides year-round boating access, even during high lake elevations, and several farmed ponds around the lake offer additional fishing opportunities for those without boats. Beyond the campground, the broader Lake Shelbyville area supports hiking, wildlife viewing, environmental education programs, horseback riding, winter sports and cultural sites, and nearby points of interest include Wolf Creek State Park, Woods Lake Waterfowl Refuge, the Okaw Bluff Wetlands Complex and Eagle Creek Resort with its lodging and 18-hole golf course. Hunting areas a short drive away host quail, rabbit, pheasant, deer, dove, turkey, waterfowl and woodcock for licensed hunters.
