Mann Creek Campground sits on the shore of Mann Creek Reservoir in the arid foothills of the Hitt Mountains just inside Payette National Forest, about 12 miles north of Weiser on Highway 95 and then a short drive up Mann Creek Road to the water. The reservoir provides roughly 283 surface acres and about five miles of shoreline (water levels vary seasonally), so the main draws here are boating, canoeing, swimming and trout fishing right from the campground. At an elevation of about 3,300 feet the summers are hot and dry; a few larger shade trees dot the sites and help with the sun, but overall shade is limited. If you want to explore beyond the reservoir, the broader Payette National Forest offers a wide range of recreational options including auto touring, biking, horseback riding and horse camping, OHV trails, hunting, winter sports, wildlife viewing, picnic areas, and even overnight stays at fire lookouts or cabins. The campground has a total of 13 campsites; all 13 are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, two sites are accessible, and six sites can be reserved in advance. Amenities include picnic tables (some covered), fire rings, vault toilets and a drinking water source that is sometimes turned off in late summer and fall call ahead to confirm. Roads and most parking spurs are gravel, while the campground loop and the two accessible sites are paved. Payment options may include on-site Scan and Pay via the Recreation.gov mobile app by scanning a posted QR code, so download the app before you arrive if you plan to use that feature (cell service can be limited). For facility-specific questions or current water and site availability call (208) 549-4200 or check Recreation.gov.
