“Love the kid activities! We had so much fun and the kid even had more! ”
“Delightful, clean campground. Other than some overzealous generator users, it was a very quiet getaway. Walking distance to Redfish Lake lodge for some more diverse experiences.”
“This is a beautiful campsite on an unbelievably beautiful lake. The sites are nicely place and mostly level. Restrooms are scattered about making it more convenient. There are many hiking trails about and when winter comes the campsite becomes a cross-country trail. ”

Glacier View Campground sits at about 6,500 feet on the shore of Redfish Lake with direct sightlines to rugged Mount Heyburn; lodgepole pines and summer wildflowers punctuate the shoreline and Fishhook Creek runs nearby, keeping evenings cool (average summer highs near 78°F and lows around 40°F). The site layout is straightforward: 63 campsites in total, all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, arranged across three loops Loop A (25 sites), Loop B (17 sites) and Loop C (21 sites). Practical facilities are in place for a comfortable stay: flush toilets and drinking water, paved roads and paved parking spurs, two playgrounds for children, and close access to a sandy beach boat ramp less than a mile away; an RV dump station sits a little over a mile from the campground. Many sites offer direct lake views, and the Redfish Lake Visitor Center is a short quarter-mile walk with exhibits and evening interpretive programs. Recreation here ranges from relaxed lake days to long mountain outings. Redfish Lake itself supports boating, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing for rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon, and Little Redfish Lake a short drive down the road adds more quiet fishing and paddling options. Trailheads for Alpine Way, Fishhook Creek, Redfish Lake Creek and Bench Lakes are all in the immediate area, and the Idaho Centennial Trail passes nearby, connecting to hundreds of miles of hiking and biking opportunities across the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The broader Sawtooth National Forest supports auto touring, biking, boating, camping, fishing, hiking, horse camping and horseback riding, OHV use, picnicking, RV travel, swimming, wildlife viewing and winter sports. For specifics about fees, reservations and seasonal openings, check with the Redfish Lake Visitor Center or the Sawtooth National Recreation Area office before you go; Glacier View is reached from the Stanley area (about 4 miles south on State Highway 75, then onto Forest Road 214) and is a convenient base for local events such as the July Arts and Crafts Fair and the autumn Wagon Days and Salmon Festival.
