Guest ★ 4 · Jul 2024Fantastic campsite, one of our favorites for a group. The only thing I wish to see improvement on is that every time we've stayed there we've had Colorado Trail hikers using the campsite as well. It's a little annoying when you're paying a fair bit of money for the site, but it's hard to move them along since there's really nowhere else for them to go. I really wish you would provide a designated spot for them, or signage telling them where to go to camp. We reserve the private site because we want a private site, and also they are then using the bathroom facilities and if left a wreck we don't want that counted against us. Otherwise the site is fantastic and we love it, that's just challenging negotiating new squatters every night.
Kelly G ★ 5 · Aug 2023Plenty of room for large groups. Multiple areas for RV’s and tents alike. Bring your own water, no electricity or cell service. Can be a little dusty. Very quiet, well kept and has the best campground host ever! Clean restrooms, multiple fire rings and tables. 25 minute drive to Leadville. We will be back!
Hanna B ★ 5 · Jun 2022Such a great weekend! We had 25 people and we only took up about 1/3 of the whole campsite. There are about 10 firepits scattered around the campground in all the individual campsites. The coordinates take you right to the gate and was so easy to find. It's about 20 degrees cooler than Denver area, closest little town is Minturn. A campground host came every morning and evening to clean the bathrooms and had firewood for us to buy. About 30 minute drive into cell service. Maintained very well. All types of trailers, campers, cars are able to fit. We will absolutely be staying here again for our big group events!

Camp Hale East Fork Group sits in a broad, green valley near the headwaters of the Eagle River and the East Fork Eagle River, about a short drive south of Minturn off Highway 24, just past the Camp Hale Memorial site and reached via Old Highway East. It is managed as a single group site there is one reservable campsite that accepts both RVs and tents and can accommodate up to 200 guests, so this is a true group-only location rather than individual family sites. The group picnic area provides several picnic tables, a large communal fire ring and grills for shared meals and campfires. Because this is a single, high-capacity group facility, plan your logistics in advance: once your reservation start date has begun neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager can modify your reservation. Fees, seasonal availability and any specific access requirements are listed on Recreation.gov, so check there before you travel. Recreation is immediate and varied: the Colorado Trail passes within walking distance of the campground, offering direct access for hiking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing, and several internal paths make short walking and biking loops convenient for mixed-ability groups. Anglers will find options nearby in the Eagle River, the East Fork Eagle River, Camp Hale Pond and in several beaver ponds, with various trout species present. The campground sits inside the larger 2.3 million acre White River National Forest, which beyond the immediate valley supports a wide range of activities from backcountry wilderness travel and winter sports to auto touring, boating, OHV use, interpretive programs and visitor centers so you can combine a group gathering at Camp Hale East Fork with longer day trips or multi-day adventures elsewhere in the forest.
