“Olive Ridge is a beautiful campground. The vault toilets and no water or dump station available were the only downside. We had the last 4 days of our reservation canceled because Olive Ridge was closing early to take care of the problem of no water. ”
“Beautiful place to camp! Plenty of room with no close Neighbors and very clean bathrooms. The camp host was very friendly and helpful.”

At just over 8,300 feet, Olive Ridge Campground sits on the west side of Colorado Highway 7 between Allenspark and Meeker Park (mile-marker 14), in the Roosevelt National Forest a short drive south of Rocky Mountain National Park. The site is shaded by a mixed stand of ponderosa pine and aspen, and the interior roads are gravel and dirt conditions to keep in mind for lower-clearance vehicles and larger rigs. Wild Basin trailheads, Finch Lake and Sandbeach Lake approaches are all nearby, so most people base here for day hikes, trout fishing and mountaineering outings into the park; afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer, so plan hikes for the morning and carry layers for sudden weather changes. If you want services beyond the campground, Estes Park and Lake Estes are roughly 15 miles to the north, offering dining, outfitting, boating and other full-service recreation options. The campground has 53 sites in total: 50 sites configured for both RVs and tents, one RV-only site and two tent-only sites. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire ring or grill; tents must be set on the provided 14' x 16' tent pads. Standard occupancy is up to eight people per site, with two oversized sites (numbers 26 and 39) able to hold up to ten people for an additional fee. Vault toilets and trash service are provided, and firewood is available for purchase inside the campground. Because detailed fees, seasonal openings and reservation policies can vary, call the facility for current information at (801) 226-3564 before you go.
