“Great fly fishing. Cycling and walking trails in and around campground. Unfortunately, water was not available in early August. Road very rough/damaged into campground. Speedbumps seem unnecessary.”
“Absolutely incredible campsite, feels very private up against the woods. No cell service at all. ”

Camp Dick occupies a quiet stretch of the Middle Saint Vrain Creek where a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps camp once stood, and the campground still carries that simple, forest-service-era feel. Twenty campsites are available, each configured to accept both tents and RVs; tent use is limited to the provided tent pads. Sites come with picnic tables and a metal campfire ring with grill, and the campground provides water spigots, vault toilets and trash service. There are no electrical hookups, no dump station and no showers, and firewood is sold only during the peak season. For questions about current fees, reservations or seasonal openings, call the facility at (801) 226-3564 those specifics are handled locally and can change year to year. The setting is a glacial valley of mixed conifer and aspen with an open meadow opening onto the creekbank, and that landscape shapes the recreation here: Middle Saint Vrain Creek is a reliable fly-fishing stream where anglers try for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout, and a network of trails radiates out from the campground. Hikers and mountain bikers can access Sourdough and the Buchanan Pass Trail (bikers are allowed on the first five miles of Buchanan Pass), and popular loop rides run from Camp Dick or nearby Peaceful Valley via Buchanan Pass Trail and Middle Saint Vrain Road or via Coney Cutoff, Coney Creek Road and Sourdough Trail. Off-road enthusiasts use Middle Saint Vrain and Bunce School roads, and guided horseback rides are available just over a mile away at Peaceful Valley Lodge. The small town of Allenspark, under 10 miles to the north, offers basic groceries and a restaurant, while the main entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park at Estes Park is roughly 25 miles away for anyone looking to extend their day trips into high-country hikes, scenic drives or lake activities. From Denver, the approach generally follows the Boulder Lyons corridor and Highway 7/72 south toward Peaceful Valley and Middle Saint Vrain Road, then about a mile of forest road to Camp Dick.
