Verbatim from guest reviews on Recreation.gov ↗ (25 reviews, ★ 4.0). Not written or edited by us.
“Great camp host , peaceful location , easy to drive to each river takeout . Will be coming back soon.”
“The campground was poorly maintained; we never saw a campground host. No campground map to help us locate our site. When we did find the site, it was over grown with weeds (shoulder height).”
“Great spot for rafting. The facilities and campground are very clean, and the BLM officer was super nice and helpful! Just beware that the trains are very loud at night.”

Radium Recreation Area
Open in Google Maps ↗
Radium Recreation Area sits on the banks of the Colorado River just outside the small community of Radium, and it serves as a practical, river-focused campground within the broader Kremmling Recreation Management Area. The site contains a total of 21 campsites: 18 are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents while 3 are tent-only. Campsites vary in layout some require a short walk to your pad while others offer pull-through or pull-in parking and every site comes with a picnic table, a fire ring and convenient access to vault toilets and trash receptacles. The developed footprint includes two boat ramps with restrooms, nine vault toilets scattered through the area, day-use and overnight parking areas, and three covered day-use shade structures. There is no potable water or electrical hookups, and cell service is effectively non-existent without a booster, so plan to arrive self-supplied with water, power, and any communications gear you might need. Fees apply between May 1 and November 30: single campsites are $6 per night (includes first vehicle; maximum 10 people), group campsites are $30 per night (includes first vehicle; maximum 30 people), and additional vehicles are $5 per day. For broader questions about access, closures or seasonal conditions, contact the Kremmling Field Office. Radium is primarily a river-access campground: anglers and floatboaters use the ramps to launch into the Upper Colorado River SRMA, and the scenery along Trough Road is part of the Colorado Headwaters National Scenic and Historic Byway. Recreational options in the larger Kremmling management area include camping, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and OHV use, but within Radium itself expect river-focused activity, picnicking under the shade structures, and straightforward campsite amenities rather than extensive developed services. Important access notes: there are no designated trails from the recreation area to Radium Warm Springs and parking along the narrow Radium Road between the recreation area and Trough Road is prohibited to preserve wildlife habitat (including bighorn sheep) and to allow emergency vehicle passage; the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Mugrage Site and its social trail are closed for habitat protection. The recommended route to the Warm Springs is to drive northeast on Trough Road to Warm Springs Road (about 1.5 miles) and use the signed parking area and trailhead there Warm Springs Trail is foot-only, while the Ol' Warm Springs Trail allows foot, horse, bicycle and eBike travel. If you need supplies, Kremmling is about 20 miles east, and the private Rancho Del Rio store and river access point sit roughly 6 miles west along Trough Road.
