“Great quiet campground, host was very friendly and present. We love it there. ”
“The host was great. The camp sites and bathrooms were clean. Only complaint is how close the camp sites are to each other. Our neighbors were really loud in the middle of the night. ”

Dairy Springs Campground sits in a stand of mature ponderosa pines and oaks at about 7,100 feet, on the north side of Mormon Lake roughly 25 miles southeast of Flagstaff via Lake Mary Road/Forest Road 3 and a short turn onto Forest Road 90. The developed site has 17 campsites in total: 14 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 3 tent-only sites, each with a picnic table and a cooking grill; sites are spaced to provide room and shade. Onsite amenities include a short self-guided nature trail and an amphitheater where rangers or volunteers sometimes present campfire programs. For facility-specific questions about fees, reservations or seasonal conditions especially important because the lake and some services are seasonal call the Coconino National Forest office at (928) 774-9671. Recreation at Dairy Springs revolves around the seasonal presence of Mormon Lake: when the lake is filled you can fish, launch small boats or windsurf, and find good waterfowl and shorebird viewing, while most other activities are available year-round. Three trailheads start at Dairy Springs (with a fourth at nearby Double Springs), leading to overlooks of the lake, prairie, forest and volcanic features; the area also supports strong populations of elk and mule deer and is a reliable place to see hawks such as northern harriers and ospreys. The small mountain community of Mormon Lake is the closest services hub think horseback rides, mountain-bike rentals, a country store and a steakhouse and the broader Coconino National Forest offers many other pursuits from biking and climbing to winter sports, interpretive programs and off-highway vehicle routes. Double Springs Campground sits adjacent and has 15 single-unit sites available by reservation.
