“It was my first time to stay, and it was beautiful. Close to water and bathrooms. And it was quiet.”
“Beautiful and clean camp sites. Christie is really nice but seems to run a tight ship! The non-plumbed restrooms could have been a cleaner but the shower house was surprisingly clean.”
“When we arrived we had to wait for the previous camper to move and we had kids with us that had to sit in the vehicle and wait for almost 1.5 hours after check in time, the restrooms were not cleaned or stocked the 4 days we were there. ”

War Eagle Campground sits on the shoreline of Beaver Lake in the Ozark Mountains, framed by limestone bluffs, natural caves and a mix of hardwoods and flowering shrubs that change the character of the place with the seasons. The campground contains 27 sites in total 26 that accommodate both RVs and tents and one tent-only site laid out with generous spacing, plenty of shade and open areas for games or gear setup. Facilities are straightforward and practical: each site has a fire ring and picnic area, and the campground provides drinking water and flush toilets to make multi-day stays comfortable. The entrance to the park is a short drive off Highway 412 east of Springdale, turning onto county roads that lead to War Eagle Park Road; while the campsites are described as sunny and spacious, the surrounding bluffs and caves offer photographers and casual explorers plenty to examine without leaving the campground area. Recreational options center on the lake and the nearby river stretches: Beaver Lake's more than 28,000 surface acres and 449 miles of shoreline support boating, swimming, water-skiing, scuba diving and paddling, and anglers will find largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers and channel or spoon-bill catfish in the lake. Just below the dam the colder upper White River produces pole-bending rainbow trout and sizable German brown trout for fly- and spin-fishing. Trails in the surrounding Ozark foothills offer hiking, biking and wildlife viewing, and hunters use nearby public lands for deer, rabbit and squirrel seasons. Several commercial marinas around Beaver Lake operate year-round and provide groceries, fuel, boat rental and storage, fishing guides and other supplies and services; for current fees, reservation policies and seasonal details, check the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake page at http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/parks/beaver/index.htm.
