“The campsites are nicely spread apart. We camped during the week so it wasn't crowded at all. Very peaceful and pretty. ”
“Such a perfect spot to overlook the pristine Greer's Ferry Lake, and it's directly across from Sugar Loaf Mountain. We enjoyed the swimming area and especially kayaking out to the mountain. Bathroom facilities are exceptionally clean as well. We will definitely be back! ”
“Always a good time camping at sugar loaf”

Sugar Loaf Park sits along the forested shore of Greers Ferry Lake in the north-central Arkansas Ozarks, where cedar, oak, elm and pecan trees shade campsites and color the hillsides each fall. The campground is a good base for water-focused days: a concrete boat ramp at Sugar Loaf makes launches straightforward, nearby marinas rent boats and stock supplies, and the lake's 30,000-plus surface acres support boating, sailing, water-skiing, swimming, scuba diving and year-round fishing. If you want to stretch your legs on land, the Sugar Loaf Mountain Island National Nature Trail is adjacent to the campground but sits on an island you must reach it by boat and the 1.5-mile loop climbs to about 1,001 feet above sea level for far-reaching views of the lake and surrounding ridges. Wildlife is abundant around camp; visitors commonly see white-tailed deer, wild turkey, rabbits, squirrels and a wide variety of songbirds, and the Little Red River below the dam receives trout from the hatchery that operates near the reservoir. The campground itself contains 72 sites organized into four loops Loop A: 15 sites, Loop B: 26 sites, Loop C: 15 sites and Loop D: 14 sites with 70 sites configured for both RVs and tents and 2 sites designated for tents only. On-site amenities include flush and vault toilets, drinking water, coin showers, a dump station, a playground, a picnic shelter and the boat ramp; the broader park also supports picnicking, organized sport activities, a visitor center and wildlife viewing opportunities. Because seasonal use, fees and reservation policies can change, call the park for current information and to confirm site availability: local information at (501) 654-2267 or general information at (501) 362-2416. Sugar Loaf Park lies northeast of Bee Branch, reached via state highways 92 and 337, and serves as a practical, well-equipped jumping-off point for both lake recreation and short Ozark hikes.
