FREMONT LAKE CG, PINEDALE RD, BRIDGER-TETON NF
Open in Google Maps ↗
Fremont Lake Campground sits on the east shore of Fremont Lake at 7,400 feet, about seven miles northeast of Pinedale via Fremont Lake Road, offering direct access to clear water and the jagged ridgelines of the Wind River Range beyond. The site count is straightforward: there are 49 campsites total; all 49 sites can accommodate both RVs and tents, arranged as 44 single sites, four double sites, and one group site that holds up to 50 people. Campsites are set into a forested hillside of aspen, Douglas fir and juniper with a dense understory that gives many sites a sense of separation and shade. Practical conveniences on site include picnic tables and fire rings with grills at each site, vault toilets, and drinking water; a boat ramp and dock put the lake within a short walk of most sites, and two campground hosts are typically on hand during peak season for information and assistance. The lake is the campground's main draw: anglers will find lake, rainbow and brown trout plus kokanee salmon, and the water is used for boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. If you want to explore beyond the shoreline, Bridger-Teton National Forest around Fremont Lake supports a wide range of activities hiking, wildlife viewing, biking, horseback riding and camping among them plus auto touring, fishing, OHV use, winter sports and visitor services farther afield. This listing does not include current fee, reservation or seasonal-openness details, so check with Bridger-Teton National Forest or the managing campground office for up-to-date information before you go; in Pinedale, the Museum of the Mountain Man is a short drive away for a solid dose of local history.
