Narrows Campground sits above New Fork Lake at about 7,800 feet on the western edge of the Wind River Range, in a dense stand of aspens that casts plentiful shade over most sites and blooms with summer wildflowers. The campground contains 19 total campsites; all 19 are both RV sites and tent sites, and each single-family site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring. Roads and parking spurs throughout the campground are native soils, and two vault toilets are located at convenient spots; a campground host is on-site. Many sites afford scenic lake views and wildlife is commonly seen around the shoreline and grove, so expect the sounds and sights of waterfowl, deer, and summer bird activity after dusk and at dawn. Recreation centers on New Fork Lake and immediate backcountry access: the lake supports boating, canoeing, swimming and fishing for kokanee salmon and brook, lake and rainbow trout, and a large cement boat ramp lies less than a mile from the campground. The New Fork Trail begins at the campground entrance and provides hiking and horseback access through New Fork Canyon into the Bridger Wilderness; horse corrals are provided at the trailhead and the trail network links to other nearby routes. The campground is about 26 miles from the nearest full-service town, Pinedale; access from Pinedale follows U.S. 191 northwest and State Highway 352 before a 5-mile gravel spur on New Fork Lake Road. That gravel road is generally passable in two-wheel-drive vehicles but is rough and can be affected by weather call the local district office for current road conditions, seasonal availability, fees, reservation information and any other access requirements. Beyond the immediate area, Bridger-Teton National Forest offers additional opportunities for auto touring, biking, OHV use, hunting, winter sports and wildlife viewing.
