“I have been camping at Paradise Creek Campground for over 40 years and absolutely love it there! The campground is well kept, the out-houses are well maintained, the noise curfew is always honored and I feel safe, even being there alone.”

Paradise Creek Campground sits where Paradise Creek meets the Wind River, under a stand of old western cedars, firs, alder and maple that give many riverfront sites a sense of seclusion amid dense undergrowth while other sites open onto a more spacious, park-like floor. The campground has 41 back-in campsites that accommodate both tents and RVs, each with a paved parking spur between about 20 and 40 feet long, a picnic table and a metal fire ring; a subset of "Premium" sites sit right beside the Wind River for immediate water access and quieter riverside shade. Located in the Mount Adams Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest southwest Washington's large, varied landscape that ranges in elevation from roughly 1,200 feet near the Wind River work center up to alpine terrain on Mt. Adams the site is reached by heading northwest from the small town of Carson on the Wind River Highway (about 19 miles) and lies between mileposts 20 and 21. Facilities are basic but serviceable: vault toilets and a hand pump for drinking water are on site, and staffing is limited (call (509) 427-3677 for updates or questions). The Wind River supports steelhead and Chinook salmon runs and is a draw for anglers, though fishing is not allowed within the campground itself check state regulations for seasons and boundary rules; wading is allowed in Paradise Creek. Trails are accessible from the loop, including approach to Lava Butte Trail 200, and seasonal berry picking is commonly enjoyed from the road system and nearby meadows. Practical details to note before you go: there is an $8 extra-vehicle fee, and Recreation.gov reservation rules apply cancellations up to two days before incur a $10 fee, later cancellations or same-day cancellations forfeit the first night plus a $10 service fee (one-night reservations forfeit the full amount), no-shows are assessed $20 plus forfeiture of the first night, and refund requests must be submitted within seven days after the reservation end date; in the event of an emergency closure all fees will be refunded.
