About

Hood Park sits on the shore of Lake Wallula in eastern Washington, where the Mid-Columbia is backed up by McNary Lock and Dam, and the shoreline opens onto broad water views shaded by mature trees. The campground's lakeside setting makes boating, swimming and fishing the chief draws here: a paved boat ramp is provided for guests, and anglers commonly target salmon and steelhead in the lake. Lewis and Clark camped a couple of miles downstream at the Snake Columbia confluence now preserved as Sacajawea State Park, and just up the shore the McNary National Wildlife Refuge offers nature trails, an environmental learning center and reliable wildlife viewing for migrating waterfowl and raptors such as bald eagles. On land you'll find opportunities for hiking, picnicking and other day-use recreation; the park includes a day-use group picnic shelter for gatherings. There are 68 total campsites: 67 both RV sites & tent sites, and 1 tent site. The developed family sites include electric hookups, making Hood Park suitable for a wide range of rigs as well as tent campers who want easy access to lake activities. Beyond basic campground comforts, the surrounding Lake Wallula area supports biking, environmental education programs, playground and specialized sport facilities, visitor-center resources, and concession services check the managing agency for current details. The park lies just east of Pasco along Highway 12, a short drive past the Snake River crossing near State Route 124; for up-to-date information on fees, reservations and seasonal availability, contact the park or its reservation system before you go.
