“The location to Bryce Canyon trails cannot be beat, it is so beautiful. The campground is pleasant, the Camp Hosts and Rangers are friendly and very helpful. Showers would make it perfect. Being levelers, there is a slope to most sites. ”
“Love it, it's a great place to see the stars”

North Campground sits just inside Bryce Canyon National Park at roughly 8,000 feet, a short walk from the Visitor Center and within easy reach of the Bryce Amphitheater and its famed Sunrise and Sunset Points. The campground is set beneath a stand of ponderosa pines on gently rolling ground dotted with shrubs and summer wildflowers, so sites get a mix of sun and shade while staying close to the rim views and hoodoo formations that define this landscape. There are 98 campsites in all 51 RV sites and 47 tent sites arranged across four loops (A: 30 sites, B: 21 sites, C: 15 sites, D: 32 sites). Roads through the campground are paved; A and B loops have paved spurs suitable for RVs, while C and D use gravel parking spurs. Every campsite comes with a picnic table, fire ring and grill, and the campground provides flush toilets and drinking water; laundry and shower facilities are available at the nearby general store during the spring, summer and fall seasons. The park's trail network ranges from short strolls under a mile to strenuous routes up to about 11 miles, and many visitors stitch two or three trails together to explore different viewpoints of the amphitheater, so hiking and photography are natural day activities from this basecamp. The seasonal park shuttle provides curbside access to popular trailheads and viewpoints (the shuttle runs on the park schedule typically mid-April through mid-October, with the busiest service May September and stops at the Visitor Center near the campground entrance). Nighttime programming is a major draw here: Bryce's high elevation and very dark skies make it possible to see thousands of stars on a moonless night, and the park hosts an annual Astronomy Festival in June plus stargazing programs on more than 100 nights a year and guided full-moon hikes. Camping, hiking and wildlife viewing are the primary activities in the park; for logistics such as current fees and reservation policies, check the National Park Service website before you go. The campground is the first left after the park entrance fee station when you turn south on Highway 63 from Scenic Byway 12 (about 14 miles east of Highway 89 near Panguitch), and it's a convenient base for side trips to Red Canyon, Kodachrome Basin, Cedar Breaks and other Colorado Plateau highlights.
