“This is my favorite campsite I’ve been to - peaceful, quiet, few people, close to the lake and Bryce Park. You can have an evening campfire, such a wonderful place! ”
“Camp host gone most of the time. Camp grounds unmaintained and over grown. ”

DIXIE NATIONAL FOREST
Open in Google Maps ↗
Pine Lake Campground sits at about 8,100 feet on the Colorado Plateau beside its namesake lake, ringed by spruce and tall ponderosa pines and backed by red-and-white sandstone bands on the nearby peaks. A short footpath from the campground leads to Pine Lake, where calm water makes for easy canoeing and kayaking and anglers can expect rainbow, cutthroat and brook trout. The Pine Lake OHV Trailhead is immediately adjacent to the campground and includes a loading ramp, so riders can be on the trail within minutes; note that while off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails are plentiful in the area, OHVs are not permitted inside the campground itself. For scenery and side trips, Bryce Canyon National Park is roughly a 30-minute drive and Kodachrome Basin State Park about an hour away. The campground is laid out to serve both tent campers and people with RVs: there are 32 sites total, all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, and the site mix includes options suitable for families and groups. Facilities are straightforward and practical accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided, and a well-maintained gravel road leads in, giving good access for cars and recreational vehicles. Important operational details such as fees, reservation policies and seasonal openings are not listed here, so plan to check with Dixie National Forest for current information before you go. Beyond paddling and fishing, Dixie National Forest supports a wide range of activities from hiking, biking and wildlife viewing to winter sports and horse travel, so Pine Lake makes a convenient base for exploring both water and high-plateau backcountry.
