“Great place to camp! Very shady! Nice people running the place. Lake is beautiful. Will camp here again. ”
“Love camping at rocky point. Always clean. Nice helpful people at gate. Wish there was more sewer hook up spots. More trails you can ride on with regular bikes, , way to many big roots. Everything else great ”

Rocky Point Park sits on the south shore of Wright Patman Lake amid the pine-and-hardwood forests of northeast Texas, where campsites thread the shoreline and shade keeps the heat in check. The lake itself covers roughly 30,000 surface acres and the surrounding public lands total about 50 55,000 acres under U.S. Army Corps of Engineers management, so the immediate area feels expansive: anglers will find bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish; boaters can launch from an accessible ramp; and birdwatchers can expect wintering bald eagles, pelicans and a variety of migratory ducks. Onsite recreation for registered campers includes a 1.3-mile trail that links to nearby Piney Point Campground, a swimming beach, playground, volleyball court and an amphitheater that hosts educational programs; the broader Wright Patman Lake area adds opportunities such as horseback riding, hunting on designated tracts, water sports and other concession-based recreation. The campground totals 125 sites 124 are configured for both RVs and tents and one is tent-only and most have hard-surface parking pads with water and electric hookups, a picnic table, grill and a utility table. Fifteen of the sites include sewer hookups and 41 offer 50-amp service; a dump station sits near the park exit and dumpsters are available just beyond it. Group visitors can reserve a day-use picnic shelter that holds up to 60 people. Facilities and trails are open year-round, and wildlife viewing peaks in winter when raptors concentrate along the lake; visitors should also be aware that some poisonous snakes live in the area and take standard precautions. For practical details on current fees, reservation policies or seasonal restrictions, contact the park or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before you go Rocky Point Park's address is 865 Rocky Point Park Road, Queen City, TX 75572, located just south of the Sulphur River Dam off Highway 59, a short drive south of Texarkana and immediately south of Piney Point Park.
