“The lady who works there is the sweetest! She truly cares about the people who stay there and she loves children! She brought my kids food and snacks and she is the sweetest! The park is very clean. And very peaceful and serene! I love staying there!”
“This park is nice, clean and peaceful. The restrooms are well stocked with paper and clean. Hot water for the showers. Not too crowded. My dog and I will definitely spend a lot of time here since it’s only 20 minutes from home. ”

Lavonia Campground sits on the shore of Lavon Lake, a 21,400-acre reservoir fed by the East Fork of the Trinity River, offering easy access to swimming, boating and shoreline fishing for species such as channel catfish, crappie and striped bass. The campground is close enough to the Dallas metro area to be an accessible weekend option it lies north of Wylie off State Highway 78, with signs guiding you into the small town of Lavon and down to the lake and is also within reach of local attractions like the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, which features natural history exhibits and its own trails. The paved Sister Groves Trail along Sister Grove Creek is nearby and popular with cyclists and hikers, while the broader Lavon Lake area supports a wide range of activities including water sports, horseback riding, environmental education programs, wildlife viewing, picnicking and a playground and specialized sports or concession sites. The campground provides a mix of sites and practical amenities suited to both RV users and tent campers: there are 45 total campsites 28 that accommodate both RVs and tents, 5 RV-only sites, and 12 tent-only sites. RV sites are equipped with water, 30-amp electric and sewer hookups; the park also offers hot showers and a boat launch for lake access. Day-use areas, picnic spots and fishing access are available on site, and the surrounding recreation area supports longer outdoor itineraries.
