Juniper Point sits on the Texas side of Lake Texoma in the Cross Timbers region, where rolling hills of post and blackjack oak drop toward sandy stretches along the reservoir. The campground is split by Highway 377 as it approaches the Willis Bridge into Oklahoma, with access on both the east and west sides; the east side is a controlled-entrance park while the west side holds the trailhead for the Cross Timbers hiking trail. There are 47 campsites in total: 43 that accommodate both RVs and tents, and 4 tent-only sites. From most sites you'll be close to water-level recreation beaches for swimming and launching, two on-site boat ramps and two docks and the setting attracts deer, wild turkey, bobcats, hawks and a busy mix of waterfowl during migration seasons. The campground's basic infrastructure supports multi-day stays and active lake use: flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, two dump stations, and a day-use group picnic shelter with electricity are all on site, and general stores and a marina sit within a mile. Lake Texoma's fishery is a central draw striped bass reproduce naturally here and anglers also target largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, crappie and catfish and the area offers 14 miles of the Cross Timbers hiking trail plus some 40 miles of equestrian trails around the lake for horseback riders. Services, seasonal hours and any entrance fees or reservation requirements are managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (and by nearby commercial concessions), so check the Corps' Lake Texoma pages or recreation.gov before you go for current policies and to confirm which amenities are open.
