“Very nice clean facility. Third time visiting the Lillydale campground in the last few years. A little disappointed that it closes early in the year. Wish cell service was better for T-Mobile.”
“Lily Dale is an awesome campground!! It’s always clean, well maintained and just a fun place to camp. I wish it was open for longer in the fall and would open earlier in the spring. Spring and fall is our favorite times to camp.”

Lillydale Campground sits on the forested shoreline of Dale Hollow Lake, a wide, clear reservoir that straddles the Tennessee Kentucky line and was formed by the Obey River dam in 1943. The campground is set among mature hardwoods with a hiking trail that follows stretches of shoreline and connects to the Accordian Bluff Trail, a challenging 7.5-mile one-way route that climbs to a ridge and drops back to the lake an excellent option for birders and wildflower observers and the footpath that links Lillydale to Willow Grove Campground. Lillydale claims the most waterfront campsites on Dale Hollow and is often pointed to for the best unobstructed lake views; two boat ramps, two sandy swimming beaches and two volleyball courts make it easy to get on the water for boating, water skiing or exploring the lake's 27,700 surface acres and 620 miles of shoreline. Fishing is a major draw here: Dale Hollow is famous for trophy smallmouth bass, while the Obey River below the dam supports strong rainbow and brown trout runs. Wildlife viewing is rich in season the reservoir area supports a large wintering bald eagle population and, briefly around Labor Day, thousands of migrating purple martins use a nearby island as a roost. For practical camping needs Lillydale offers 113 total campsites: 77 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents, seven RV-only paved sites, and 29 tent-only sites, plus one double-party group island tent area (sites 109 110 used together) and one large group picnic shelter in the day-use area. Many sites have water and electric hookups (a mix of 30-amp and 50-amp service across the campground), there is a dump station, flush toilets and drinking water, and an accessible paved site is designated (site 93). Island sites (110 115) are remote park-and-walk-in sites with no hookups. A Wi-Fi hub near the registration center lets you check weather or email when the office is closed. Camping is limited to 14 days within any 30-consecutive-day period; payments are accepted online or by credit card only. There is no charge to make a reservation, but fees apply for changes and cancellations: a $10 service fee is withheld from refunds, a $10 fee may be assessed for reservation changes, day-of or day-before cancellations for standard campsites incur a $10 fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee, group cancellations under 14 days follow stricter rules, and no-shows are charged $20 plus forfeiture of the first night. Visitors to campers are charged $3 per vehicle per day, and full reservation and refund policies are available through the national recreation reservation service.
