“I love this campground. The stalls are nice, I like that each horse has its pun space. The trail system is the best. Easy to navigate and beautiful. ”
“Good campsite, some good hiking trails Beautiful stream/ creek nearby & quiet Only one pit toilet for entire campground & very gross This is primarily a horse/RV campground ( I tent camp ) ”
“We absolutely love Kelly Pines! Off the grid with a pit toilet, lots of horses to keep us company. Amazing hiking, lots of mushrooms, and beautiful views of the night sky. ”

Kelly Pines Campground sits in a small opening along Wolf Run, a native trout stream, surrounded by mature mixed forest that includes white pines more than 300 years old. The site functions as the hub of the Spring Creek Horse Trail system, so the landscape feels shaped for riding: gentle trailheads radiate out of the loop and a central parking/staging area makes it easy for day users to saddle up and head out on clearly marked routes. There are seven campsites in all two sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and five equestrian-only sites so the feel is compact and purpose-driven rather than a large campground spread. Trout anglers also use this spot when season opens in April; the two non-equestrian sites are the ones where anglers are welcome. If you're coming off the main roads near Marienville, Kane or Ridgeway, expect to follow forest roads into the Kelly Pines area; vehicles longer than 40 feet should preview the approach before reserving because of a tight turn and a narrow bridge on the access route. Facilities are arranged with horses squarely in mind: four of the equestrian sites are single sites each equipped with a 4-horse tie-down shelter (gravel base, rubber mat and log rails), and the double equestrian site contains two of those shelters, while every site horse or non-horse has a picnic table and a fire ring. Practical amenities include a vault toilet, an artesian well, a designated stream watering spot for horses, a manure bin for proper disposal, a hitching rail for quick stops, and a bulletin board with maps and regulations; the Spring Creek Horse Trail system itself offers about 38 miles of designated, marked trails (some of which cross State Game Lands). Riders must stay on designated trails, may use Forest roads during wet conditions, and cross-country riding is not allowed. Reservations and changes are handled through Recreation.gov, cancellations must go through that same system, and for facility-specific questions call (814) 363-9090.
