“The camp hosts were excellent. We had a great experience.”
“Very clean, great hosts. Would be a 5 star, but one of the toilets in the restroom was out of service, so there was only one women’s toilet available for all the day use and the campers in the resort area.”

Hart-Tish Park sits on the western shore of Applegate Lake in the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest, a lakeside spot with a groomed lawn that slopes down to the water and direct views to the Red Buttes Wilderness and the Siskiyou Crest. The campground is a handy base for water-based recreation swimming, fishing, canoeing and power boating off the on-site boat ramp and for day trips on land: the CollinS Mountain Trail begins at the Hart-Tish picnic area, drops to Grouse Creek past an abandoned miner's cabin and old mine adits, passes an inactive Bigfoot trap installed in 1974, then climbs roughly 1,000 feet in one steep mile to a ridge for long traverses and panoramic lookouts over Applegate Lake. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are offered at $30 for three hours or $45 for a full day, and the surrounding forestland reflects the complex Cascade Siskiyou geology and diverse plant and animal communities that make the region notable for wildlife viewing and hiking. Practical details matter here: Hart-Tish Campground contains 16 total campsites 8 RV sites and 8 tent sites. The tent sites are walk-in (about 75 yards) with carts provided for gear; the eight RV sites sit in a dedicated portion of the day-use parking and back up directly to the shoreline, with two parking spaces allocated per RV to accommodate slide-outs and extra equipment. You'll find drinking water, flush toilets and a General Store on site (check-in is at the store at the bottom of the hill), but no internet service is available. Reservations and fees are handled through recreation.gov (their system-wide rules and regulations apply), there is a two-night minimum for reservations that include a Friday or Saturday, and the site is not staffed to process cancellation or change requests by phone questions about modifications should be emailed to applegatelake@gmail.com. Note that seasonal smoke from regional wildfires can lead the Forest Service to temporarily close facilities; if they do, refunds are honored.
