“Had a great time at Birch Cove. Sites are clean and well maintained, gate attendant (Justin) is super friendly and helpful, and the park is always quiet and orderly. Bath and shower facilities are clean and updated. I really enjoy camping here.”
“Beautiful place! The lake was awesome and my dog really enjoyed it. I would go back again. It was clean, has bathrooms and trash receptacle. Also has picnic tables. I didn't fish so I can't say anything about that.”
“Our favorite place to camp always clean campground and we enjoy our time there ”

Birch Cove sits along the edge of Birch Lake, a 1,137-acre impoundment on Birch Creek in Osage County, surrounded by rolling hills and mixed hardwood stands. The campground's 98 sites are all designed to accommodate both RVs and tents and are situated either on the water or a short walk from the shoreline, so most campers wake to lake views or quick access to the shore. Sites tend to offer a mix of sun and shade beneath post oak, blackjack, other oaks, hickory, hackberry and elm; the shoreline alternates between gentle slopes and steeper rock outcrops, and meadows of native grasses and wildflowers color the area in spring and fall. Two reservable group shelters are available for larger gatherings one configured for up to six RVs/trailers, 100 people and 21 vehicles, the other for up to four RVs/trailers, 60 people and 11 vehicles making Birch Cove workable for family reunions or small group outings as well as individual campers. The campground is accessed from the Tulsa area via Highways 75 and 20; it's the lake near Skiatook and Barnsdall, so plan on a rural drive into Osage County to reach the park entrance. On-site facilities at Birch Cove support a broad range of water-centered recreation: a boat ramp and fishing dock make launching and angling straightforward, and a swim beach provides a place to cool off; there's also a playground for children and day-use spaces for picnicking. Anglers will find a diverse fishery largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass, walleye, hybrid striped bass, black and white crappie, channel and flathead catfish and sunfish are all reported in the lake while the surrounding public lands also support hunting for species such as bobwhite quail, mourning dove, fox and gray squirrel, cottontail rabbit and whitetail deer. The lake and campground support boating, water sports, wildlife viewing and casual lakeside camping year-round recreational opportunities. Exact fees, reservation policies, hookup availability and any seasonal restrictions are not listed here; call the park office or check the official Birch Lake/Birch Cove web page for current rates, reservation windows and site-specific rules before you go.
