“Beautiful campground. Unfortunately some of it along with the majority of the hiking trails were shut down bc of a major storm came through and numerous trees down. Completely out of their control. Looking forward to going back again!! ”
“Our favorite place to camp. Private spots, beautiful trees, and nice facilities. Campground is always clean, and the swimming area and playground are great.”
“Spots are level and easy to back into and level. Bathroom is very clean ”

Eggerts Landing sits along the wooded shoreline of Lake Ashtabula in eastern North Dakota, about 10 miles north of Valley City off I-94 (Valley City exit 292). The campground has 40 campsites 36 both RV Sites & Tent Sites and 4 Tent Sites arranged among thick stands of trees that give most sites a sense of privacy and shade. On-site amenities include a swimming beach, flush toilets, a playground and a short hiking trail; a fishing pier, boat ramp, dump station and a restaurant are within easy walking distance. The landscape here is classic prairie pothole country: low rolling river valley carved by glacial action, where the lake shoreline and woody pockets create a mix of water access and shelter that suits anglers, families and campers looking for quieter, tree-lined sites. Recreation at Eggerts Landing taps into Lake Ashtabula's wide mix of seasonal activities. In summer you'll find boating, swimming, picnicking and easy access to fishing for walleye, northern pike, white bass, yellow perch and black bullhead; the broader lake offers seven boat ramps, three accessible fishing piers and four automated fish-cleaning stations. Spring and fall are prime for birding large flocks of white pelicans are a distinctive sight and nearly 3,000 acres of Corps-managed land around the lake invite wildlife viewing, hiking and hunting. Winter brings ice fishing and cross-country skiing. The site is part of a larger recreation network (the Sheyenne River Valley Byway and long segments of the North Country Trail are a short drive away), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages the area contact them for current fees, reservation policies and seasonal details before you go.
